61 Days of Summer

Every year since I started my job in the school system, I've been at Cheerleading camps, working extra summer hours for the Guidance office, and doing other things for other people. I spent last summer in a sleepy daze, frantically running a baby back and forth to grandma's or the babysitters so that I could do Cheer stuff. Of course that didn't take all of my summer, but it's so hard to start and stop a summer break- breaks should be continuous! So this summer it's going to be about me, getting my life and home in order, and most importantly, spending time with Claire before the new baby gets here. I will focus on keeping positive and wonderful people in my life and I'm going to get involved in new things. I'm really excited to see what this summer will bring, since I've never really had one before. I've been a little stressed lately and I'm not being very good to my body (eating crummy foods), which means I'm not being good to my baby. I can't wait to go to the Farmer's market this summer and get fresh fruits and veggies to make yummy meals with. I can't wait to have time to make meals! It's like I'm starting this whole new life! I plan on organizing the crap out of my home so that when the new baby comes, we will have minimal organizational issues!

Side note of what I have learned about life this past year: No one will care the most about you except for you. You have to take care of yourself, because no one will take care of you! I've also learned to say NO! My MIL always says to get your "No" card out. She's really wise!

I'm Back!

After almost three months of packing, moving, and unpacking, I'm glad to say I'm back. I've been reading everyone's posts even though I haven't posted. So here's what's been going on.

The whole family packed up and moved during Spring Break, which was the first full week in April. Packing was the worst! I found out I was a few weeks pregnant and I was so nauseas! All I did was lay around as Jeff frantically shoved things into boxes. On moving day I was so worthless! We spent that week trying to unpack things, but my garage is still full of stuff! Sad thing is, I don't really miss the stuff that's packed away in the garage- this tells me I need to play the donate game!

I'm 12 weeks along and this pregnancy has been tough! I remember being tired and hungry with Claire, but I am exhausted, nauseas, and cranky with this baby! I'm so excited to find out what it is that I've scheduled an ultra sound right at my 16th week! So I should know on June 11 what baby number two is. Everyone keeps asking what I want and after working in a school, I would have to say that I agree with the cliche. I just want a happy, healthy baby. On one hand I'd love a boy (mostly because I've convinced myself that I'd be done once I had a boy); but I'm a firm believer that a girl should always have a sister. So I could go with either.

I'm dreaming of the days this summer when I can lounge around with Claire and work on some much needed crafting/decorating time! I'll post a before and after of the house. You won't believe what brand new hardwoods and some paint would do to a home!!

Love it!!

THE LUSSIERS ARE MOVING!!

In December I sat my husband down and talked about our quality of life. We have such a wonderful family, but we don't get to spend time with anyone because we are too busy driving around the world. I'm driving about an hour and half in the morning and again in the afternoon to drop off and pick up Claire. I love that she is with both her Grandmothers and I'd continue to drive around the world if I have to. As we talked about the driving situation, I also talked about how much I want to live in a swim and tennis community. You may have read in my earlier blogs about Legacy Park; well, after lots of house visits, we settled on a home in Lullwater.

It's a 5 bedroom, 3.5 bath home. The fifth bedroom is in the finished basement. We are on a small culdesac that is within walking distance to one of the small parks!! Claire loves the new park and she loves playing there.

The house isn't all roses and butterflies, it does need work. The entire interior of the house needs to be painted along with all new flooring. It will need a new deck, light fixtures, and some landscaping. We have a home inspection on friday and I'm excited to see what the results will be.

It is a great house and feels like my home (not that this home doesn't feel like mine, I just spend a good 3 hours in the car and I only sleep here). I can't wait to fix it up and invite everyone over to my house!

Also, if you click on the legacy park link and look at their events, there is something to do every weekend!!! I'm so excited!!!

February LoVe

So I know there are moments in any relationship where you get annoyed by something they do or even angry over something that doesn't make sense. Today, I was driving to Carrollton and I realized that my husband was really wonderful today. He's really wonderful most days, but it really sunk in today. He got up, went to church with us, was wonderful when Claire cried at Church, accompanied me to the grocery store, and took care of Claire while I tended to sorority things. He really is wonderful. Sometimes we get so fixated on the little things (like forgetting to take out the trash or watching the game). It's not about the little things, but about the big things- like really being there for me today and especially for his little girl. I've got a great guy who is also a wonderful daddy!!

The Golden Rule

Do you remember the golden rule? Treat others the way you want to be treated. The golden rule has lost its shine over the years. Now the rule is: treat others in such a way that you get what you want.
Always remember to be nice to others. I know I haven't always been the best at this, but it is something that we all have to work on.

On another note, I am eating dinner with some gorgeous gals this Saturday night! Claire is also spending her first day in Sunday school, pray for us!!

Sweet face!

Look at this sweet face!! She hates bows, but she let me put this one in for a few minutes. Then she ripped it out and threw it at the dog.

I love spending time with my family. I love how my little girl has learned to talk more and play more. She amazes me every day!

On a different note, I'm sure we've all heard about the Winter Storm of 2011. When I first heard about this, I was sure that it would be nothing. I thought it might snow, then the roads would be fine the next day. Monday's school has been cancelled and so has Tuesday. What I realize is that this will probably eat into post planning or February vacation. Also, we have next monday off for MLK. So here's my new motto for 2011: Don't go to school! Let's just have storm after holiday after vacation! It would be awesome!!
